A Bit About Me
Hello and a warm welcome to you! My name is Alyssa (she/her), and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#20364) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I am passionate about supporting individuals of all backgrounds through life’s challenges. I specialize in working with both adults and adolescents, providing support in areas such as anxiety, depression/mood concerns, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, stress management, self-esteem, and identity exploration.
My therapeutic approach is person-centred and grounded in curiosity and compassion. My goal is to support clients to learn how to challenge negative thought patterns, cultivate mindfulness and acceptance, develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their connection with others, and manage the physical sensations associated with emotional distress. To do this, I utilize various modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Somatic Therapy (MBST), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment-Based Therapy (ABT). I draw from my experience working in private and public therapeutic work, as well as my own lived experiences of loss, challenge and growth.
Reaching out for support can be daunting, but I am here to help you identify the strengths and resources needed to overcome your concerns. A life of greater ease, balance and fulfillment is possible. If you have any further questions about who I am or what to expect from working together, please feel free to book a consultation with me. I look forward to supporting you on your journey of healing and greater well-being.
